Byela Tibesigwa is a junior research fellow at the Environmental Policy Research Unit (EPRU). She is currently pursuing her PhD in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town. Her research work focuses on how social interaction and the lack of basic services such as water, electricity and sanitation affect risky behavior. Byela obtained her Master’s degree from University of Botswana, where she focused on improving community welfare under the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
