Shakeb Afsah is a Performance Monitoring & Public Disclosure Specialist at Performeks, Betsheda, Maryland. His main research interests are environmental performance monitoring and public disclosure; climate management strategies.

Shakeb Afsah specializes in instituting environmental transparency initiatives in public agencies and private organization. He is best known for helping the Government of Indonesia implement its environmental rating and public disclosure program (PROPER) in 1995. Over the last 10 years, he has designed and implemented performance monitoring initiatives in the water, electricity, and public health sectors. He also runs the climate policy analysis initiative CO2 Scorecard.

His current research focuses on understanding the connections between environmental disclosure, governance and firm responses.
