UNU-WIDER (World Institute for Development Economics Research of the United Nations University) is the first research and training centre of the United Nations University (UNU), established in Helsinki, Finland in 1984. UNU-WIDER undertakes applied research and policy analysis on global development and poverty issues. The site invites applications for the visiting scholar and PhD internship programmes, and lists other opportunities for collaboration.

NAI (Nordiska Afrika Institutet) scholarship programme is directed at scholars in Africa, engaged in research on the African continent. Female researchers are especially encouraged to apply for these scholarships.

Museveni Scholarship The Centre for the Study of African Economies (CSAE), Department of Economics at the University of Oxford invites applications for a scholarship of £10,000 to support Africans wishing to pursue economic research at the University for the degree of D Phil.

Wallenberg Foundation Postdoctoral Scholarship Program
- The Stig Hagström stipend. The The purpose of the program is to bring Swedish scientists to Stanford University to study and do research on environmental and energy issues. Stipend is for an period of two years postdoctoral studies. The stipend amounts to USD 40,000 annually plus additional benefits.
