Climate Funds Update is an independent website that provides information on the growing number of international funding initiatives designed to help developing countries address the challenges of climate change.

GDN (Global Development Network) is a worldwide association of research and policy institutes that promotes the generation, sharing, and application to policy of multidisciplinary knowledge for the purpose of development. GDN seek to identify the challenges of development and offer solutions from that of researchers living in developing countries. The site lists many grants and funding opportunities under each “regional window” covering the whole world.

The online CPF (Collaborative Partnership on Forests) Sourcebook on Funding for Sustainable Forest Management is managed by FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) and has been developed to help users efficiently locate global funding sources for sustainable forest management projects. The sourcebook compiles information on funding sources, policies and delivery mechanisms, with particular focus on projects in developing countries. The site represents a wide variety of different funding opportunities.

Environment and Development Research Group provides links to general web sites for conducting your own search for sources of funding and contact information, and details on specific grant and internship opportunities. Canadian and International funding opportunities.

IDRC (International Development Research Centre) is a Canadian organisation who funds research activities that are designed to directly benefit developing countries and their citizens. Researchers from developing countries are especially encouraged to apply.

The DFID (Department for International Development) is the part of the UK Government that manages Britain's aid to developing countries and works to get rid of extreme poverty. The site displays a wide variety of funding opportunities for researchers and others, also some region specific funding.

IFS (International Foundation for Science) is a research council with international operations and the mission to build the scientific capacity of developing countries in sciences related to the sustainable management of biological and water resources. IFS mainly promote the research efforts of promising young science graduates.

3ie (International Initiative for Impact Evaluation) seeks to improve the lives of poor people in low- and middle-income countries by providing, and summarizing, evidence of what works, when, why and for how much. 3ie funds innovative evaluation studies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of development spending to change people’s lives in developing countries.
