Senior members of the EEPC sit on several government advisory bodies and give advice on key policy issues such as forest tenure reform, carbon management, environmental indicators, environmental fiscal reforms.
Study of the State Forest Reform as a priority research theme by SFA in 2009
In summer 2009, EEPC was given a contract by SFA to conduct study of State Forest Reform, one of the ten priority research themes identified by SFA in 2009. During the period of June-August 2009, field work has been completed. EEPC was asked to provide policy briefs to contribute to the process of policy formation on state forests.
Prof Jintao Xu serves as an adviser to the Department of Afforestation, China’s State Forestry Administration. He was also a member of the Lead Expert Group within the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development, and took part in research planning, evaluation, and preparation of final policy recommendations to present to the council at its annual conference.
