Paul J. Ferraro to EfD-Central America Center at CATIE, Costa Rica
Ferraro is a Fulbright Scholar (2011-2012) and will be working at EfD-CA as guest researcher from January until June, 2012.
Paul LACEEP course
We invite all EfD Centers to welcome Paul J. Ferraro to our group in Central America. Ferraro is Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics and in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.
Paul is not a newcomer at CATIE as he taught the LACEEP course on Environmental and Resource Economics on Impact Evaluation in 2011. This time his agenda is much different. During his six month at the Center Ferraro will continue his work on the design and impact evaluation of environmental policies; his research and publications on this issue is well known. In addition, he will collaborate with the team on developing ideas and proposals for research in adaptation to climate change.
Dr. Ferraro holds a BA in Biology and History (1990) and a MS (1994) from Duke University and PhD (2001) from Cornell University; the tittle of his dissertation was “Constructing Markets for Ecosystem Services: essays in conservation”. Paul’s work has been published in Science, Land Economics, Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Conservation Biology and Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization. He has also worked internationally on ecosystem management initiatives in Africa, Central America, and the former Soviet Union.
